Boosting Regional Tourism: Zambia Showcases its Potential at Magical Kenya Travel Expo 2025
NAIROBI- The Zambia Tourism Agency (ZTA) recently showcased the country’s tourism potential at the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) 2025, held in Nairobi from October 1-3, 2025. Led by Mrs. Amanda Chipungu, Chief Marketing Officer.The Zambian delegation included representatives from Zambia Airways, Hotel Lodge operators, and Travel and Tour companies. The expo provided a platform for Zambia to forge partnerships with Kenya’s tourism sector and highlight its unique tourism offerings, ultimately boosting regional tourism cooperation.
Zambia’s High Commissioner to Kenya, His Excellency Alfred Musemuna, encouraged ZTA to learn from Kenya’s tourism successes and identify areas for collaboration. During the expo, His Excellency Alfred Musemuna toured several stands, including Utali College, Kenya Tourism Board, Bomas of Kenya, Kenya Association of Women in Tourism, and Kenya Association of Travel Agents. Notably, Utali College has a Memorandum of Understanding with the Zambia Institute of Hospitality Studies and is set to welcome Zambian students on scholarships from the Kenyan government.
Mrs. Chipungu also made a call for more Travel and Tour companies to attend the Zambia Travel Expo (ZATEX) 2026 in Lusaka. ZATEX aims to position Zambia as a key tourism hub in Africa, promote sustainable tourism practices, and drive inclusive growth in the industry.
